Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules

Layout and Joinery

Any woodworker will eventually have to layout something on a piece of material or measure and mark joinery. Having a handful of the right tools will make these takes extremely easy and enjoyable. A simple hook rule, combination square, machinist square, and a quality straight edge are a must in a woodworking tasks. We typically use these tools in combination to complete a plethora of tasks within our production woodworking. Our combination square (or multiple ones) can be set to different measurements for repeated tasks and the machinist square and a straight edge are key players in the larger layout side of things. One can purchase a simple ruler, yardstick, or metal ruler from the big box store but having something that feels hefty in the hands is something worth it. We found the Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules a few years ago and have never looked back!

Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules

Quality, precision, and dependability are synonymous with Woodpeckers products. Whether it is their regular run products or OneTIME Tool line of products, the quality is top notch. They have set the bar for the industry.

Their Woodworking Rule lineup is no exception. To ensure flatness and straightness, they have machined it from a solid piece of aluminum and then anodize their signature Woodpecker’s red. It is then laser engraved to ensure reading and marking is extremely easy to the consumer. Their quality control is quite amazing. They have a digital optics system that checks the laser engraving to make sure it is up to the Woodpeckers’ standard.

Dual Scales

Each Woodworking Rule had two scales. The first scale is a Standard Scale. It is a standard 1″ scale in 1/32″ increments.

The second scale is a Center Scale. There is a 0″ mark right in the center of the rule. The scale progresses with the same 1/32″ increments on both sides of the 0″ mark. This is extremely valuable when laying out marks on a board using centerlines.

The Woodpeckers Woodworking Rules are available in imperial and metric.

Sizes

These rules come in 5 different sizes. 6″, 12″, 24″, 36″, and 49 1/2″.

Hollow Back

The backs of the rules are hollow to allow them to sit flat on the two edges.

Hook Stop

All of the rules with the exception of the 6″ unit accepts Woodpeckers Hook Stop. This is an essential accessory if you work from the edge of the material. The Hook Stop instantly allows you to instantly register your ruler from the edge of the material.
