Ryobi P3240 18V One+ 3 Gallon Project Wet/Dry Vac VS Ridgid

Personal Sized Vacuum

While it can be a lot of fun creating a mess, cleaning it up, more specifically vacuuming, sucks.  It is hard to think of many jobs that can be more mind-numbing than vacuuming, but it is a necessary evil to complete any project.  Adding to the frustration is the cord while moving around a wet/dry vac.  Many times we have a small mess in our shop and we drag out the large 8 gallon wet/dry vac to clean up the mess when a much smaller and easy to use vac could take its place.

Ryobi is working to help us to remove the frustration of a cord to clean up a small area with their new Ryobi 18V ONE+ 3 Gallon Wet/Dry Project Vacuum.  This small toolbox sized vacuum has both wet and dry capability and comes included with a washable filter.  The filter is easily removed for wet use.  The exhaust from this vacuum can be channeled through the utility nozzle through the hose and be used as a small blower.  There is storage for the 6 ft. x 1-1/4 in. hose that is incredibly flexible.  All the nozzles store on-board and this unit stores away nicely.  The clamping system used to keep the vacuum shut works easily and has a nice large rubber o-ring to keep it sealed tight.

Overall

Ryobi’s new 18V ONE+ 3 Gallon Wet/Dry Project Vacuum is very impressive.  It is very quiet and powerful compared to others on the market.  You could change the color of this vacuum and add just about any other brand and it would be 100% believable.  Ryobi really knocked this one out of the park.  The ability to have a powerful and portable vacuum has allowed us to clean up areas that were harder to access with a normal corded vacuum.  The run-time is not a concern for us at this point as the 4.0 Ah batteries provide around 13 minutes of run-time.  While this is considered a 3 gallon wet/dry vac, the actual capacity for liquids will be about 1-3/4 gallons.  As with all vacuums, manufacturers are allowed to count the full container that holds the fluid without the filter and motor, so the float will turn off the vacuum before you reach full capacity.  For your home, shop, business or car, we believe this vacuum will shine and be used because of the portable ability and a great hose.  We are very happy to see a truly corded power vacuum come out in a battery powered line!
