Ryobi Hybrid Cool
Home, work, job-sites, shops, camping and every place in between can be an uncomfortable environment when its hot, unless you have the right tool. In this case, the right tool is the Ryobi 18-Volt ONE+ Dual Power Portable Fan due to it’s versatility to work in many of the environments it might be needed in. This Ryobi Hybrid Fan has the ability to run off an electric 110 volt AC power with an extension cord or will run off Ryobi 18 volt batteries. That is a large part of what makes this tool cool.
To go along with the multiple power options, the fan also has multiple hanging options to work with those unknown situations this fan might be used for. Ryobi designed this fan to be versatile and it shows.
The rear of this fan allows you to connect an extension cord or 18 volt Ryobi battery. The picture shows that it will only allow one of those to be connected at one time and is not a charging unit for Ryobi batteries. This choice in versatility, allowing standard 110 volt power or the many different batteries offered by Ryobi is what brought us to do a video and write about this fan. Gone will be the sleepless nights sweating it out in a tent in a rustic campground. Let’s not even talk about the 90 degree days at work due to broke cooling systems or non-functioning thermostats. Drying our tile shower has become a safe and easy job without cords to trip over. Thus, life is grand, all because of the right tool for the right job.

How cool are you?
Since it has not been talked about yet, this fan has two speeds to work with your needs for air flow, 1400 and 2100 RPM, respectively. The lower speed will also help your battery to last longer if this unit is being used in a remote area. This fan really does work by providing a good amount of airflow for a personal fan.
We did not complete a run time test on this unit, but there is a warning on the back of the fan and in the owner’s manual. The warning states that the battery should be recharged after about 5 hours to prevent deep discharging the battery too often, as this could damage and shorten the life of batteries. With any rechargeable Li-ion battery, over discharging could potentially lead to reduced lifetime. They might have the warning on this tool, rather than others, due to it’s use and ability to set the fan in place and run until the battery will no longer run the fan. There is also a possibility that there is not protection inside the fan to shut it down when battery power becomes too low.
Overall, it’s a neat unit that provides versatility and can be used by many.
