EGO Power+ 575 CFM Variable Speed 56-Volt Blower Review

New Variable Speed Trigger

EGO Power+ just released another new blower that provides a bump in the performance (575 cfm 142 mph) with a new variable speed trigger.  There is no more turbo button!  Along with the variable speed trigger is a cruise control feature that least you set the tool at the desired power and not have to hold the trigger.  The new blower looks a lot like the 530 cfm model, but the performance of this unit is noticeably better.  EGO’s battery operated units are nearing the power of high end commercial gas blowers.

Our kit is model # LB5754 and came with the EGO blower, a 56v (5.0Ah) lithium ion battery and a charger.  If you are already invested in the EGO battery line, you can also buy this as a bare tool, without the battery and charger.  It was refreshing to see the kit come with the larger 5.0Ah battery.  This is currently EGO’s mid-sized battery and it provides a good amount of runtime.  In our runtime testing, at wide open throttle, the 575 ran for 13 minutes 53 seconds.  Before you say that you need more runtime than that, we want to note that if we tone the unit back to about 400 cfm, we were able to get just over 32 minutes of runtime out of the LB5750.

LB5754 Blower Features

  • High efficiency brushless motor
  • Variable-speed control delivers 260-575 CFM
  • 4 times quieter that gas blowers
  • Weather-resistant construction
  • Spread nozzle attachment and shoulder strap included
  • Ergonomic design for superb balance and user comfort
  • 5-year limited warranty

Super Impressive Performance

EGO released the new blower in the middle of winter.  Thankfully, this year was a very mild winter and some of the wind we had in the area spread out the leaves to allow us to blow them back into a large pile.  The leaves have been under snow and thawed a few times so they are wet, rotting and not willing to move easily.  The EGO 575 was ready for the task.

But to really show the power of the EGO 575, we took it back inside our shop.  We pulled out a volley ball and the Dewalt 40 volt blower.  With the ball setting on top of the blower, we fully depressed each trigger and measured how high the ball would levitate over each blower.  We feel this is a clear demonstration of the force that is leaving the tube.  Watch our YouTube video and see the EGO pushing the ball over 3 feet above the blower while the Dewalt is just able to get the ball 6″ away.  It is clear that EGO is not playing around when it comes to putting some power in their blowers.

Priced Right!

This blower, bare tool, is priced at $20 more than the 530 cfm blower.  When you start to compare the blower to other brands, even brands with significantly less battery, the blower is a deal.  How can EGO provide a quality package with a solid 5 year warranty, yet price their products at much less than other brands?  How every they are doing it, they are winning over a lot of new customers.

HOME DEPOT: EGO 142 MPH 575 CFM Variable-Speed 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Leaf Blower with 5.0 Ah Battery

Battery operated outdoor power equipment is not for everyone.  We were skeptical the first time we tried it.  But as we see this progression into more power and runtime we feel that more and more people will pick up these items and enjoy the ease of use.  We have found our self blowing off the driveway more simply because it was a 10 second job and we don’t smell like exhaust after.  This is an exciting time for people interested in this new, easy to use, line of lawn equipment.  There is no more pulling to start a gas operated lawn mower or blower.  Simple charge the battery and know that when you want to use your equipment, it will be ready.
