    Chittum Burl Pens X 2

I finally got to my lathe for the first time in many years recently.
I turned 2 pens from Chittum Burl wood.
Chittum Burl is extremely difficult to turn because the grain goes every which way at the same time.
Extremely prone to tear out, especially when it is not stabilized first.
I had to stabilize it with thin CA glue as I went along & let it dry naturally.
Letting it dry naturally prevents the wood from heating up & cracking if you use accelerator on it.

Pen 1 is a David Broadwell Art Deco Ballpoint.

Pen 2 is a Gatsby Chrome Ballpoint.

Here are both together. Sorry about the photo quality. My old POS camera doesn't play well with my new computer.
