    help for welding

I need your information for this. I want to do some fabrication works. In fact, I am a beginner.

The query is on welding. I have heard that there are many types of welding.
Tig welding, MIG welding, and arc welding. I don't know how much more can be there in the list. In order to do some fabrication on sheet metal parts available, which will be the suitable welding. Any suggestions?

Whether I should take some extra precautions to do welding other than using masks? I am very curious to know about these.

My friend recently got some help for custom stainless steel fabrications in Toronto for his vintage car, so that I feel like trying it myself. Expecting some suggestions for a beginner. I don't know whether my ideas are clear. Your replies will be worth. Thank you.
