    How to weld forklift fork

I canít afford a anvil so in my time at roaming around the scrapyard found forklift forks and have cut them up . I had previously researched and found out that theyíre usually made out of 4130 or 40 or 4340s which is great for rebound .but them nervous about welding them togather because if I donít get it right And have a air gap it would be useless now I have the right right electrodes their a nicro mass by esab and will be using one of my Lincoln 250 welders to weld them . Any one have exp with this .
