    Smile Another New Project!

I'd been looking fr a Simplicity "Sunrunner" for a while to use as a "butt buggy" around the tractor shows. A freind of mine let me know he had a Deutz-Allis "Vanguard", but didn't want to sell it. around the first of the year, he found out he was going to have to move, so he called me to come & get it! Weather was nice out this afternoon, so I got it out of the shed & washed the top layer of barn dust off it: Another New Project!-tractors-2018-001.jpg Another New Project!-tractors-2018-002.jpg

I probably won't get much else done with it til spring, first will be to get the engine running, then go from there!

Who needs a seat, it's the "stand-up" model!

Nice seat with fold-down arms came with it!

    Seats are over rated......

You could put a nice seat out of a truck on that!

How's the progress on this project? Doesn't it need a seat? Maybe you can find some old truck parts to use for it?

I scrapped a sun runner a few weeks ago. It was in a take all lot I bought. Like you I was going to use it as a yard truck, but it was so messed up it wasn't even worth attempting to fix. The frame was broken and welded cock-eyed in many places. The push-pull cables for the steering were half seized. The bentonite grease in the trans was rock hard, and I broke the cast case trying to chip it out. I saved the motor, seat, and wheels from it. Got $8 in scrap from it on top of the parts. Guess that's not to bad because it was thrown into the lot for free and not the main tractor I wanted.
    ... I didn't do it!
